DJ E.Decay has been a Breakbeat/Jungle DJ since 1992 and is one of Germany’s Drum’n‘Bass scene pioneers. He has performed many unforgettable sets on major raves such as MEDITATION, Kings of the Jungle, Slammin Vinyl, Warning, Battle of the Mcs, Jungle Fever, MC Convention, Future, Nature One, One Nation, Desire, Devotion, AWOL, to name only a few, and has also given performances in clubs all over Germany & Europe In 1994 he was already resident DJ in the legendary Vibration Club (Forst Heidesee/ near Karlsruhe [GER]), which had a strong influence in the development of the German Drum&Bass Jungle Scene. Almost every weekend, he spun the records with DJs such as “Hype”, “Grooverider”, Mickey Finn, “LTJ Bukem”, “Brian G”, Roni Size and “Andy C”. Shortly afterwards, the Vibration team initiated the party series MEDITATION, where E.Decay was involved as musical consultant and as DJ. The Meditation Party Series became quickly THE major Drum&Bass Event in Germany with 4000 to 5000 visitors per Event and did set standards for others to follow. In 1996 E.Decay together with his long time partner and friend Oliver Bendig aka OCB decided to start their own Label U3R Music and the Rawhill Cru, which within short time turned out to be one of the most successful underground labels of the German Drum and Bass scene. Biggest Release so far where the Rawhill Cru MoFire in collebration with Bad Company RMXes by Andy C & Fresh and getting a Roni Size RMX of Rawhill Crus – Helpless E.Decay played already all over Europe to promote his own Label and his latest releases. He regularly performs in England, France, Austria, Switzerland, and all over Germany. He also played in Toronto/Can and on the WMC 2003 in Miami. In 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005 the people voted him for BEST GERMAN DRUM&BASS DEEJAY, BEST NATIONAL PRODUCER @ THE FUTURE MUSIC AWARD. In 1999, during a promotion tour for a U3R Music release called Lost in Bass, E.Decay started to work very close with MC Navigator (Freestylers, UK).. In March 2003 the Rawhill Cru released, under the leadership of E.Decay the long awaited Ragga/ Jungle Tune MoFire, which features the vocal talents of Navigator, $pyda, The Ragga Twins, Shabba D., Tenor Fly and Soultrain. Entered the UK Dancecharts at No.1 and the UK Sales Charts at No.24..E.Decay toured with MoFire the whole of Europe, Canada, US to promote this release and received an amazing feedback. From this time on E.Decay & The Rawhill Cru is a solid Trademark in the Worldwide D&B Scene. In 2003 they were Frontpage and mainstory in the british Knowledge Mag and BBC 1xtra invited him and the whole MC CRU for an 2 hour special Rawhill show – and of course the feedback was just unbelievable!!! Hes also the only German Artist ever, who did an exclusive Studio Mix for the Worldwide NO.1 D&B Website Drum & Bass Arena. www.Breakbeat.co.uk. On top of that, he is the only German Artist in history whos entered the UK Top 40 Charts with a D&B/Jungle Track. E.Decay is still playing all the big shows in Germany (Festivals, Raves) and is headlining many clubevents all over Europe and he loves to play out with MC Spyda, Ragga Twins or MC Soultrain…they mash up the Party everytime…

+RuFFM am 12.01.2008 mit Total Science

The pair first met in 1987, both living in and around the Blackbird Leys estate in Oxford, England and brought together through a mutual love of hip-hop and school girls. Greenhalgh was the first into the studio, with ‘Freestyle Fanatic’ launching his career in 1991. However it was the establishment of the Legend imprint and specifically Greenhalgh’s ‘Champion Sound’, which really took their profile above and beyond the slew of anonymous white labels that were dominating the music at the time.
After six years of recording singles for Legend and others, the pair established the CIA label and changed their name to the now familiar Total Science guise in the closing months of 1997, with the help of Brillo from Timeless. The release of their Silent Reign EP for Goldie#s Metalheadz breathed a new lease of life into the project, and the pair achieved a further boost with a well-timed Bad Company remix of ‘Champion Sound’ which conjured further interest in what they were doing with their own label. Their debut album Advance exposed a further field of interest, with down-tempo experiments logged as a series of ‘Breaks’ on the majority of their early EP’s extended to some superb deep house, this breadth was taken a step further with their Skin Deep imprint which has forged broken beat to considerable acclaim.
‘Mars Needs Total Science’, the guys third album, was released mid 2006 and saw instant success with album single ‘Never Had a Dream’ reaching Number 1 in the UK Dance charts and a host of tracks from it being played by the likes of Hype, Fabio, Golde, Zane Lowe, Ronnie herel and Trevor Nelson. Q-Project finally finished his exellent debut solo lp ‘Renassance Man’ which was released on Hospital in late Autumn.
2007 has seen the Oxford duo team up with DJ Marky’s label Innerground to form ‘CINNA’ The last release ‘2nd Date’ featured vocals from Ayah and was a hot favourite, doing the rounds of the D&B circuit and even found it’s way into the record box of superstar House DJ: Pete Tong!! Mid 2007, TS collaborated with fellow Brazilian wonderboy: Bungle on a track entitled ‘Snake Eyes’. This was one of many popular tracks that featured on Bungle’s debut CIA LP: ‘Down to Earth.’
Collaborations aside, TS have kept themselves busy remixing classic tunes: ‘Secada’ by Zero T & Beta 2 and ‘Dubplate’ by Wots My Code, whilst Q Project recently embarked on his own project to set up an imprint focused entirely on showcasing Q Project music: ‘Machine Funk’.
At present the guys have just finished a new 12 for Metalheadz and are currently working on their fourth album, which is scheduled to complete early 2008.
